BCB announces vice-captaincy appointments across formats

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed a series of leadership appointments across the national men’s teams, naming Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Saif Hassan as vice-captains in Test, ODI and T20I cricket respectively.

Miraz has been appointed vice-captain of the Bangladesh Test team where he will serve as deputy to Najmul Hossain Shanto. Shanto will continue as captain until the end of the current ICC Test Championship cycle.

In the One-Day International format, Shanto will assume the role of vice-captain under  Miraz’s leadership. Miraz was confirmed as the ODI skipper for a one-year term in June this year.

Saif Hassan’s elevation as vice-captain of the T20 team comes on the back of consistent and impressive performances in the shortest format for Bangladesh. Litton Kumer Das has been entrusted with leading the side until the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2026.
