698 more held in 24hrs under Operation Devil Hunt
In the ongoing nationwide Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2, police have arrested 698 more crime suspects and seized 14 more firearms in the past 24 hours.
The Police Headquarters in a statement today confirmed the arrests and seizure.
During the operation, police searched 28,766 motorcycles and 43, 352 vehicles.
As a result of the searches, 291 illegal motorcycles were seized for violations related to registration and other legal requirements.
The decision to launch “Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2” was taken on December 13, 2025, with the aim of stopping the activities of fascist terrorists, he said.
According to official figures, a total of 6,598 people were arrested under the operation between December 13 and December 20, 2025.
During the same period, 13,505 people were arrested in total, including 6,907 individuals detained in connection with previous cases and outstanding warrants.
Law enforcement agencies also recovered a large cache of arms and materials during the operation, including 56 firearms, 437 rounds of bullets, 137 cartridges, 62 indigenous weapons, as well as grenades, mortar shells, gunpowder, fireworks and bomb-making materials.
