3 pedestrians killed in city after falling bricks due to tremor

Three pedestrians were killed in city's Bangshal area after falling bricks from a building during an earthquake that jolt across the country today.

Mallik Ahsan Uddin Sami, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Lalbagh), said three pedestrians were seriously injured when bricks fell from the roof railing of a seven-storey building of deceased Saki Miah on KP Ghosh Street under Bangshal police station.

He said they were rushed to Mitford Hospital, where it was learned that three died there.

Mallik said the deceased could not be identified immediately.

The earthquake struck the capital city and several other parts of the country at 10:38 am today, according to Bangladesh Metrological Department (BMD).
