Uttara Division named best in DMP for October

Uttara Division has been adjudged the best crime division in the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) for the month of October, while Uttara West Police Station has been selected as the best-performing police station.

The awards were handed over at the monthly crime review meeting for October 2025, held at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh this morning, said a DMP press release. 

DMP Commissioner Sheikh Mohammad Sajjat Ali presented the awards to officers of various ranks in recognition of their outstanding performance in maintaining law and order, crime control and ensuring public safety across the capital.

Among assistant police commissioners, Jewel Chakma of Lalbagh Zone was selected as the best performer. Sub-Inspector Abdul Aziz of Hazaribagh Police Station and Sub-Inspector Md. Billal Bhuiyan of Bhatara Police Station jointly received the award for best SI. 

The best ASI award went jointly to ASI Akhtaruzzaman Mondol Palash of Jatrabari Police Station and ASI Md. Amirul Islam of Mugda Police Station.

In the Detective Branch (DB), DB-Wari Division was named best among detective units, while Additional Deputy Police Commissioner Md. Fazlul Karim, team leader of the Wari Zonal Team, was recognized as the best team leader.

Traffic-Motijheel Division earned the award for best traffic division. The best traffic sergeant award was shared by Sergeant Abdul Aziz of Rampura Traffic Zone and Sergeant Russel Alam of Mohammadpur Traffic Zone.

The review meeting was conducted by Joint Police Commissioner (Crime) Md. Farooq Hossain. 

Additional Police Commissioner (Admin) Md. Sarwar, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime & Operations) S.N. Md. Nazrul Islam, Additional Police Commissioner (Counter Terrorism & Transnational Crime) Md. Masud Karim, Additional Police Commissioner (DB) Md. Shafiqul Islam, Additional Police Commissioner (Logistics, Finance & Procurement) Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali, Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Md. Zilllur Rahman, joint commissioners, deputy commissioners, officers-in-charge of all DMP police stations and officials of various ranks were also present at the event.
