Int'l flight operations to start at Cox's Bazar Airport in Oct: Sk Bashir

Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin today said international flight operations will begin at Cox's Bazar Airport in the middle of October.

"Eighty percent construction work of the international terminal building of the airport has already completed and other preparations are also progressing fast," he told the reports after inspecting the progress of the construction work of the Cox's Bazar Airport.

Earlier, he held a meeting with the airport authorities and project officials and later inspected different development projects in the airport. He also talked to the concerned authorities at that time.

Replying to a question, Bashir Uddin said that the flight operations on international routes will start with one aircraft and the flights would be increased phase by phase. There will be efforts to give tickets to the passengers at attractive prices, he added.

Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh Air Vice Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq, secretary to the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry Begum Nasreen Jahan, Deputy Commissioner of Cox's Bazar Mohammad Slah Uddin and concerned officials accompanied the adviser during the visit.
