Mother, daughter electrocuted in Pabna

A woman and her daughter died from electrocution at Kacharpur Purbapara village of Atikula union of Pabna Sadar upazila on Wednesday afternoon.

The victims were identified as Arjina Khatun, wife of Nawab Uddin Khan, and their daughter, Orsha Khatun, an eighth-grade student at Kacharpur Dakhil Madrasa.

Habibul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ataikula Police Station, said the incident occurred around 4pm when Orsha was bathing in rainwater. She was electrocuted after stepping into a cowshed that had become electrified due to a cut electric wire. When mother Arjina rushed to save her daughter, she too was fatally shocked.

Nawab Uddin Khan expressed his devastation, saying, “I had many dreams for my daughter’s future. She was talented, and now all my dreams are shattered. I’ve lost my voice in grief after losing both my wife and daughter.”
