EDOTCO Bangladesh and Tiger New Energy Unite for Greener Connectivity Solutions

EDOTCO Bangladesh, the country’s leading telecommunications infrastructure provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tiger New Energy Ltd, a pioneer in clean mobility and energy innovation, to deploy sustainable power systems that drive greener connectivity and extend clean energy access to communities across Bangladesh.

This partnership marks a pivotal shift from conventional energy use to integrated renewable energy solutions for telecom infrastructure. It aims not only to ensure uninterrupted telecom services but also to support the national sustainability agenda by reducing carbon emissions and enhancing energy equity.

Through this partnership, the two companies will pilot innovative services such as battery backup systems, swapping stations, and Charging Station Systems, all designed to reduce fossil fuel dependency and extend energy access to the wider community in line with EDOTCO’s commitment to implement sustainable approaches to provide seamless connectivity and community empowerment.

Key initiatives under this partnership include:

·       Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS): A subscription-based battery backup system to provide uninterrupted power to telecom towers, ensuring stable connectivity even during grid failures.

·       Battery Swapping Stations (BSS): Swap points located at EDOTCO tower sites to support electric vehicle mobility, especially two and three-wheelers, reducing charging time and supporting a shared clean energy ecosystem.

·       Battery Charging Station Systems (BCSS): Easily accessible EV charging points catering to community users, such as rickshaws and easy bikes, making clean power accessible for all.

“This partnership is more than just a technological advancement; it’s a bold step toward a greener, more inclusive digital future,” said Mr. Sunil Isaac, Country Managing Director of EDOTCO Bangladesh. "By integrating clean energy with smart infrastructure, we are enabling sustainable connectivity and real impact for the communities we serve."

Ms. Nicole Mao, Co-Founder & CEO of Tiger New Energy, added:

"Our collaboration with EDOTCO is about powering people. These innovative solutions open new pathways to affordable, clean energy, reduce carbon emissions, and help everyday citizens participate in a greener future. This is shared progress in action."

This first-of-its-kind initiative in Bangladesh reinforces EDOTCO’s leadership in sustainable telecom infrastructure. By aligning infrastructure with environmental responsibility, this partnership signals a new era of resilient, inclusive, and climate-conscious connectivity for Bangladesh.

As a subsidiary of Malaysia-based EDOTCO Group, the world’s sixth-largest tower company, EDOTCO Bangladesh continues to pioneer innovations such as the Bamboo Tower, Hybrid Solar-Wind Tower, Spun Prestressed Concrete Tower, and Smart Pole Street Furniture, each a testament to its commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
