Bangladesh vowed to put behind the Super Over tragedy as they take on West Indies in the series deciding third ODI at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium tomorrow (Thursday).

The match starts at 1.30 pm. T Sports and Nagorik TV will telecast the match live.

The series is locked at 1-1 at the moment with Bangladesh winning the first game by 74 runs and West Indies clinching a dramatic Super Over in the second game.

While Super Over victory boosts West Indies to a great extent, it was bit mental breakdown for Bangladesh, which were in control of the game for most of the period.

After posting 213-9 on a sluggish pitch, Bangladesh reduced West Indies to 163-7 and dreamt of victory to take an unassailable 2-0 lead.

West Indies skipper Shai Hope, however, remain unscathed and took the game deep from where it became anyone’s match. Bangladesh paid the price of dropping a catch at the crunch moment of the game, allowing West Indies No.11 batter Khary Pierre to take two runs to tie the match.

In Super Over too, Bangladesh were in control after getting four runs before Akeal Hosein sent down any legal delivery. But they eventually failed to cash in on it as they fell two runs short to chase down West Indies’ 10-1.

Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz believes the shocking defeat won’t put any impact when they play the third game to decide the series.

“We don't have options for that final over and had to bowl Saif Hassan. We believed that if we could get one wicket we can have the game,” Miraz said.

“If we had taken that catch (off the final ball of the game), we would have won. We are looking forward to the next game,” he added.

Despite breaching Bangladesh fortress in Mirpur and overcoming the hosts ‘ favourite sluggish surface, West Indies captain Shai Hope still remained cautious.

He rather put emphasize on learning from the mistakes they had done in the second ODI.

“It was a tricky chase. It was important for us to keep wickets in the hand but we lost quite a few in the back end,” Hope said. “Hopefully, we can learn a lot about our batting innings and take those learnings into the next game.”
“We say about West Indies cricket that we always keep fans on the seats, so... It was a very good game. Happy that the guys pulled it back,” he said.

“We should have restricted them to 160-170 but they played very well in the back end. But we fought hard with the bat and great to level the series.”

As per overall stat, West Indies still have the edge in head-to-head battle winning 25 and losing 22 in 49 matches. The rest of the two matches were abandoned.

However, West Indies are highly likely to be unchanged from the series deciding game while Bangladesh may call up the service of Tanzim Hasan Sakib, replacing Mustafizur Rahman.
