BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury today said that the party will work with France on the 'Creative Industry' if they forms the government in the upcoming national parliamentary elections.

He said, "We have included a large programme regarding the creative industry in our 31-point demand. This was discussed today. We have had discussions about working with France on the creative industry if we can form the government."

Khasru made the remarks in a briefing after a meeting with French ambassador to Bangladesh Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan.

Khasru also added that there was a special discussion on business, trade, investment and cooperation in other sectors between the two countries.

Referring to the discussion with the French Ambassador about the elections, the BNP leader said, "They (BNP) called for holding the general elections at the earliest time. This will create an opportunity for working with France."

Regarding the country's current situation, he mentioned that it will not impact the election, saying, "Various incidents can occur in different contexts in the country.

There will not be any impact on democratic transition of Bangladesh and holding election on specific time.

He noted that those who want to obstruct the election are not forces in favor of democracy, asking, "Should we stop the electoral system now because of the actions of those who want to obstruct the election, who do not want to return the ownership to the people of Bangladesh, and who do not want a democratic order?"

He further added, "If they are thinking of delaying the election due to their activities, then they are a force against democracy. We must clearly understand that they cannot be a force in favor of democracy."

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir led the meeting while BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Joint Secretary General (Foreign Affairs) Humayun Kabir and Organizing Secretary Shama Obaed was present during the meeting.
