Now our second battle is to realize fair, impartial polls: Moyeen

BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan today said after the fall of Awami League regime, now the party’s second battle is to realize a fair and impartial national election as the party has been fighting for achieving people’s voting rights for long.
“Therefore, elections should be held soon,” he told a youth rally organized by Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal and Swechchhasebak Dal in Nayapaltan in the capital.
BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman joined the rally virtually as the chief guest with Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna in the chair.
Moyeen said: “Today’s Nayapaltan grand rally has turned into a sea of youth. The youth of Bangladesh have awakened under the leadership of Tarique Rahman.”
“Fascist dictatorship destroyed our country. The country's young student community has played an important role. We had our first victory in July-August. But our movement has not stopped. We are in the second stage of victory,” he said.
He said democracy must also be given a complete form in Bangladesh and a specific roadmap for elections must be given immediately.
“The people want democracy. We have cooperated with the government for that. We will continue to cooperate. Power must be transferred to the representatives elected by the people through elections. Otherwise, the interim government will not be able to escape the movement of the aggrieved youth,” he said.
