Tarique Rahman urges party men to maintain unity at any cost
BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman today called upon the party men to maintain strong unity at any cost to defeat evil forces.
“Invisible forces are gradually becoming visible in politics. Fascist conspirators are becoming active,” he told a virtual training workshop from London.
BNP leaders and workers of Gaibandha, Lalmonirhat and Kurigram joined it from respective districts on virtual platform.
BNP's training affairs committee organized the workshop on the party’s 31 points reform outline for repairing the state structure and public involvement where participants asked a volley of questions to the party acting chairman.
Tarique Rahman said when no one dared to speak out for fear of tyranny, his party ignored the “bloodthirsty eyes” of the Awami League and proposed 31-point reform outline.
Describing natural beauty and historical sites of the northern region, the acting chairman said if BNP is voted to power in the next general election, it will promote native culture and heritage and sports as well as make those mandatory for primary education.
“Cultural diversity and custom is heritage of Bangladesh. For example, Lalmonirhat has some literary and cultural characteristics, similarly Kurigram, Chattogram, and Kushtia also have different traditions and culture. This diversity is our heritage,” he said.
Tarique Rahman said whenever BNP got the opportunity to govern the country, it tried to promote the local culture.
“We know that in the last 17 years, many cultural workers have lived in hardship and suffered due to lack of medical treatment. Many cultural workers got financial aid during the tenure of prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia,” he said.
He said the party believes in promotion of native culture so that it will include culture and sports in primary education if voted to power.
Children will get opportunity to know the local culture and participate in sports which will help make their mental and physical development.
He urged the party men to maintain strong unity at any cost to defeat evil forces as invisible forces are gradually becoming visible in politics and at the same time “fascist conspirators are becoming active”.
The leaders and activists are working to reach out these proposals to the doorsteps of the common people, he said, adding that BNP has promised the people that if it comes to power in a fair election, then the 31 points will be implemented.
BNP Organizing Secretary (Rangpur Division) Asadul Habib Dulu chaired the event while BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, Media Cell member Shammi Akhter, Training Secretary Rasheda Begum Hira and leader Newaz Halima Arli were present, among others.
Chhatra Dal leader Iqbal Hossain Shyamal moderated the programme which was attended by more than two hundred leaders from five upazilas of Lalmonirhat district participated in the training workshop.
