Osman Hadi's body arrives in Dhaka
An aircraft carrying the body of Inquilab Moncho spokesman Sharif Osman Hadi, who died at a Singapore Hospital on Thursday, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Friday evening.
The Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-585 carrying the body landed at the airport at 5:48 pm on Friday, officials said.
They said the flight had departed from Singapore’s Changi International Airport at 2:03 pm, Bangladesh time.
Meanwhile, security measures have been tightened at the airport to avoid any unwanted incident.
According to a post on Inquilab Moncho’s official Facebook page, after landing in Dhaka the body will be taken to the central mosque of Dhaka University.
The organisation urged supporters to pay tributes to the ‘fearless hero who sacrificed his life to protect justice, freedom and sovereignty’ by maintaining disciplined positions along both sides of the road from the airport to Shahbagh.
On December 12, Hadi was shot in the head while moving in a rickshaw on Culvert Road in Puratan Paltan.
He underwent surgery at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and was later admitted to Evercare Hospital. For advanced treatment, he was airlifted to Singapore where he passed away on the night of December 18.
