Preparations afoot for large-scale special events to celebrate Victory Day

Extensive preparations are underway on the occasion of the great Victory Day celebration on December 16 with special large-scale programmes across the country.

National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman, Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Senior Secretary of the Home Affairs Ministry Nasimul Ghani and other senior officials on Wednesday inspected the overall preparations for the Victory Day special events, said the Chief Adviser's Press Wing this afternoon. 

On Victory Day, the Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Air Force will conduct separate fly-past demonstrations at the old Tejgaon Airport in the city from 11:00 am. A special Victory Day band show will also take place.

At 11:40am, 54 paratroopers of "Team Bangladesh" will perform a flag-bearing skydive to mark 54 years of the country's independence.
