12 withdrawn DCs posted to ministries, departments
The government has withdrawn 12 deputy commissioners (DCs) from different districts and posted them to various ministries, divisions and departments.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on Sunday.
Of the 12, ten DCs were still serving in their districts despite having been promoted to the rank of joint secretary.
According to the notification, Jhenaidah DC Mohammad Abdul Awal has been transferred to the Ministry of Shipping, Panchagarh DC Md Sabet Ali to the Ministry of Agriculture, Chandpur DC Mohammad Mohsin Uddin to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Manikganj DC Monowar Hossain Molla to the Department of Posts and Telecommunications, Kishoreganj DC Fauzia Khan to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and Joypurhat DC Afroza Akhter Chowdhury as Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration.
In Mymensingh, DC Mufidul Alam has been appointed as Director General (Joint Secretary) of the Public Private Partnership Authority, under the office of the Chief Adviser.
Chuadanga DC Mohammad Jahirul Islam has been made a Member (Joint Secretary) of the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) under the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, while Gopalganj DC Muhammad Kamruzzaman has been appointed Managing Director of Khulna WASA, under the Local Government Division.
Besides, Jhalokati DC Ashrafur Rahman has been named Additional Divisional Commissioner (Joint Secretary) of Sylhet.
Meanwhile, Jamalpur DC Hasina Begum has been transferred to the Cabinet Division, and Brahmanbaria DC Mohammad Didarul Alam has been appointed Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, the notification said.
