Council of Advisers to continue regular functions: Govt
The Council of Advisers of the interim government will continue to perform its regular duties until it hands over responsibility to the elected government, the government said in a statement on Monday.
It also said that meetings of the Council will be held as usual during this period.
The clarification came following remarks made by Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuj Alam at the ‘Meet-the-Reporters’ programme organised by Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Sunday.
The government says that Alam’s remarks about the Council’s activities created some confusion after being reported in the media.
The notion that the government’s reforms and policy formulation work must be completed by November is not correct, the statement said, adding that the reform process will continue in full swing.
