Fire breaks out at HSIA Cargo Village


A fire broke out at the Cargo Village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka this afternoon where imported goods are stored.
Four units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence were immediately deployed and managed to bring the blaze under control after swift efforts.
Confirming the incident, Executive Director of HSIA SM Ragib Samad told BSS that the fire broke out at the cargo area of the airport and all relevant fire units are working to bring the blaze under control.
Due to the fire, flight operation at the airport has temporarily been suspended, officials confirmed.
Airport authorities, in coordination with the Fire Service and Civil Aviation Security officials, have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
