CA urges hajj pilgrims to use ‘Labbaik’ app

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today urged all hajj pilgrims to use mobile app “Labbaik” developed to facilitate hajj services for them.

“This app will play a great role in ensuring that pilgrims can perform their religious practices smoothly,” he said while inaugurating the newly introduced app at the State Guest House Jamuna here.

The “Labbaik” app was developed for the first time in the country under the government management.

Speaking on the occasion, he said since the app will be helpful for hajj pilgrims in performing their religious practices and it has various features including health services, this app will make a great contribution to performing hajj with devotion.

To make the hajj pilgrimage easier, the Chief Adviser directed the authorities concerned to upgrade the app further so that the Muslims can use this app from the stage of thinking of going to Hajj from next year although they are able to use this app from the beginning of hajj this year.

He said initiatives will be taken to learn from countries having advanced hajj management and to provide technical support to the countries, which do not have such systems to develop this app as well.

Prof Yunus also suggested making this app easier and error-free in the future.

Apart from making religious practices easier, the Chief Adviser said, the app will help hajj pilgrims to travel in Saudi Arabia without any worries. He thanked all involved in developing the app.

Along with this app, Prof Yunus inaugurated a hajj prepaid card and hajj roaming package facilities on the occasion.

Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain, Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb were, among others, present.
