The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth and demise of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), was observed in Rajshahi, as well as across the country, with due religious reverence and solemnity today.
In observance of the day, the Anjumane Ashrafia Charitable Trust and Sheroil Colony Boro Mosque organized a religious rally from the mosque premises in the morning.
The rally paraded the main thoroughfares of the city before concluding at Hazrat Shah Makhdum Dargah, where special prayers were offered for the peace of the country and the Muslim Ummah.
Additionally, the traditional colorful rally 'Jasne Julush' was brought out by Gausul Azam Gausia, Talime Quran Tamauafi, and EskeNabi from the city's Saheb Bazar area around 8:30 am.
After parading key city roads, the rally ended at Shah Makhdum Dargah Mosque, where prayers were offered for the divine blessings of Almighty Allah for the peace, progress, and prosperity of the country and the welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
The day's observance included special prayers, Dhikir, Dua, Milad Mahfil, discussions, and charity events, including the distribution of food to orphans and the destitute.
The divisional office of the Islamic Foundation and the Imam Training Academy jointly organized a discussion to highlight the significance of the day.
The Shishu Academy also held a Hamd-Na'at competition for children. Various educational institutions organized discussion meetings and Dua Mahfils to mark the occasion.
Law enforcement agencies ensured tight security measures to guarantee the smooth conduct of the day's programmes.
Several bamboo-made temporary gates, wrapped in long rags and adorned with colorful festoons and banners, were erected at key road corners and city islands in celebration of the holy occasion.
