One killed, two injured in Dinajpur road accident

A van driver was killed and two others were injured in a road accident in Haidernagar area on the Dinajpur-Gobindaganj regional highway in Ghoraghat upazila of the district today.

The deceased was identified as Yusuf Ali, 45, son of Nur Bakkar Mia of Kucherpara village of the upazila.

Ghoraghat thana officer-in-charge Md Nazmul Haque said the accident occurred when a covered van hit another  locally  made van in the area leaving Yusuf dead on the spot and injured two others.

Injured Suruzzaman, 70, and Mohammad Ali, 40, were sent to upazila health complex for treatment.

Police seized the covered van. However, covered van driver and helper managed to escape the scene.
