Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury elected BAJUS Vice President

Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury, owner of JCX Gold & Diamond, has been elected Vice President of the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) for the 2025–2027 term.

The results of the election were announced on Monday (November 3) at the BAJUS central office in Dhaka by Nasrin Fatema Auwal, Chairperson of the Election Board.

Mr. Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury is also the Managing Director of JCX Developments, Director of JCX Hospitality, Director of Bengal Islami Life Insurance, and Director of Bengal Commercial Bank.

Meanwhile, Enamul Haque Khan, owner of Diamond & Divas, has been re-elected President of BAJUS for a second consecutive term, unopposed.

In addition to the President and Vice Presidents, the election also confirmed one Senior Vice President, three Vice Presidents, one Treasurer, and 29 Directors — all elected unopposed.

Notably, this year BAJUS abolished the General Secretary position for the first time since its establishment.

Sananda Jewellers (Pvt.) owner Ranjit Ghosh has been elected Senior Vice President, while Azad Ahmed of Apon Diamond House and Abhi Roy of Joroya House (Pvt.) Ltd. have been elected as Vice Presidents.

Amit Ghosh of New Fancy Jewellers has been elected Treasurer.

The following individuals have been elected as Directors: Md. Milon Mia, Pawan Kumar Agarwal, Tanvir Rahman, Md. Liton Hawlader, Bablu Dutta, Ganesh Debnath, Ashish Kumar Mondal, Mizanur Rahman, Bikash Ghosh, Suman Chandra Dey, Mostafa Kamal, Dhananjay Saha (Bipul), Shribas Roy, Md. Ali Hossain, Md. Rubel, Md. Nayon Chowdhury, Md. Salam, Fahad Kamal Linkon, Goutam Ghosh, Mohammad Robiul Islam, Md. Tarek ul Islam Chowdhury, Abu Naser Mohammad Abdullah, Md. Rafiqul Islam, Soumen Saha, Akkas Ali, Mohammad Morshed Alam, Shawon Ahmed Chowdhury, Md. Nazmul Huda Latif, and Palash Kumar Saha.

According to the Election Board, since no candidate withdrew their nomination, and the number of valid candidates matched the number of available positions, all 35 candidates were declared elected unopposed under Section 24(1) of the Trade Organization Regulations 2025.
