Indices gain in first four of trading at DSE, CSE


Both the Dhaka and Chattogram stock exchanges witnessed an upward trend in the first hour of trading on Sunday, with most share prices and all key indices advancing.
At the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the benchmark index DSEX rose by 36 points at the opening hour of the week.
The Shariah-based DSES gained 8 points while the blue-chip DS30 advanced by 12 points.
Of the 262 issues traded during the period, prices of 262 companies advanced, 57 declined and 72 remained unchanged.
Shares and units worth over Tk 250 crore changed hands on the DSE within the first hour.
Similarly, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also opened on a positive note, with its overall index gaining 31 points.
Out of 79 issues traded, 39 advanced, 24 declined and 16 remained unchanged.
The turnover at the CSE stood at Tk 8 million in the first hour.
