Tamim eclipses Shakib in Barishal records
Fortune Barishal skipper Tamim Iqbal created a new record for his franchise during 48 ball-61 runs knock against Dhaka Capital, a knock which won his side the game by eight wickets.
It was his seventh half-century for Barishal with which he went past Shakib Al Hasan, who hit six fifties for the side. Shakib earlier was the integral part of Barishal.
While Shakib scored six half-centuries in 22 innings, Tamim trumped Shakib after playing 30 innings.
During the knock, Tamim also became the first batter to score 1,000 runs for the franchise. He came into the game with three runs short of the landmark and got there in the very first over of the chase.
Tamim now has 1,038 runs under his belt at an average of 38.44 and a strike- rate of 126.27 for Fortune Barishal.
However, the victory against Dhaka put Barishal in the second spot in the point table behind Rangpur Riders, which remains unbeaten still after playing seven matches.
