Qulkhwani of businessman Maqbool to be held Saturday

Qulkhwani of chemical businessman late Alhaj Maqbool Ahamed Chowdhury will be held on Saturday (September 6) after Zuhr prayers.

On the day, milad and prayers will be held at three locations - Baitul Falah Islamia Madrasa and Orphanage, Shershah Suri Road, Mohammadpur; Jamia Islamia Wahidia Madrasa and Orphanage, Salimullah Road and Fatema (R.A.) Women’s Dakhil Madrasa at Panpara, Ramganj, Lakshmipur, founded by the late Maqbool, said a media release on Thursday.

Maqbool, father of Hassan Ahamed Chowdhury Kiron, Chairman of Debate for Democracy and Director News at ATN Bangla, was laid to rest at the Eidgah graveyard in Mohammadpur on Tuesday following two separate Namaz-e-Janazas. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep sorrow and grief at the death of Maqbool.

In a condolence message, he prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members, relatives, admirers, and well-wishers.

The businessman passed away at United Hospital of Dhaka on Monday afternoon after suffering a heart attack.

He was 85 and left behind his wife, two sons, one daughter, two daughter-in-laws, grandchildren, and countless well-wishers who mourn his loss.
