Attempt to murder case filed against Hasina, 155 others in Bogura

An attempt to murder case was filed with Sadar Thana Police against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, General Secretary of banned Awami League (AL) Obaidul Quader and 155 others.

Hassan Basir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bogura Sadar Thana today told the media that one Nayon Miah of Nishindara Uttarpara area filed the case mentioning names of 155 people on Monday night under explosive substance act. 

Nayon Miah also accused another 200 to 250 unnamed people in the case, the OC added.

The complainant alleged that the accused people attacked on a peaceful procession of the anti-discrimination students’ movement in the town on August 4 last year where he was injured. 

The accused people attacked the procession with cut rifle, other deadly weapons, cocktails, crude bombs and sticks during the incident, the complainant added.

The other prominent accused of the case are-President of the District Unit of banned AL Mojibor Rahman Majnu, its General Secretary Ragebul Ahsan Ripu, Joint Secretary Manjurul Alam Mohon, AL leaders Asadur Rahman Dulu, Poura AL President Rafi Newaj Khan Robin, President of banned Juba League Bogura District Unit Shuvashish Poddar Liton and its General Secretary Aminul Islam Dablu.

Besides, President of banned Sadar Upazila AL Abu Sufian Shafiq, its General Secretary Mahfujul Islam Raj, President of Zila Jatiya Party Shariful Islam Jinnah, his son President of Zila Juba Sanghati Hussain Sharif Sanchay, expelled Mohila Dal Leader Beauty Begum, former Chairman of Shibganj upazila Firoz Ahmed Riju, journalist Ananta Selim, President of banned Zila Chhatra League Sajib Saha, its General Secretary Al Mahidul Islam Joy, banned AL leader Al Raji Juwel, Mashrafi Hero and General Secretary of banned Awami Sheschhasebok League Zilfikar Rahman Shanto, were also accused in the case.
