Singapore's parliament was dissolved Tuesday ahead of an upcoming national election seen as a crucial test for Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, according to a government statement.
Wong, 52, last year succeeded Lee Hsien Loong, son of Singapore's founding prime minister Lee Kuan Yew, ushering in a new era after decades of leadership by the influential Lee family.
