Taptap Send Hosts Iftar Gathering in Rome

In celebration of the holy month of Ramadan, a festive iftar gathering was held in Rome to honor the Bangladeshi community. Organized by the renowned remittance app TapTap Send, the event was conducted in collaboration with the Bangladesh Students Forum in Italy (BSFI).
On Saturday, March 8, a Bangladeshi restaurant in Rome’s Tor Pignattara area became the venue for an evening of community spirit and cultural unity. The event was attended by dignitaries, community members, business professionals, students, and local Muslim representatives, all coming together to break their fast in a warm, celebratory atmosphere.
The chief guest at the event was Md. Reyad Hossain, Minister and Head of Chancery of the Bangladesh Embassy in Rome. In his address, Hossain highlighted the significant economic contributions of Bangladeshi expatriates, stating, “Such initiatives not only strengthen our unity but also help preserve our cultural and religious values.” He further emphasized that the embassy remains steadfast in its commitment to serving and supporting its overseas citizens.
Taptap Send Bangladesh's Ambassador and Media Coordinator, Mahmudul Hasan, also addressed the audience. Hasan explained that the TapTap Send app makes it remarkably easy and free to send money to Bangladesh. He added that new users who apply the EGALTUBE promo code on their first transaction can receive an instant bonus of up to £20, €20, or $20. “We are proud to support Bangladeshi expatriates by providing them with essential remittance services that keep them connected with their families,” he said.
Additional speakers included representatives from Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ Italian Country Office— Md. Mostafizur Rahman (Station Manager) and Md. Golam Maola (Finance Manager)— as well as journalist MK Rahman Liton, student Motawakkil, and prominent community figure Md. Shamim Hossain. Leaders from BSFI also shared insights into the challenges and opportunities facing expatriate students, reiterating the organization’s mission to foster unity and mutual support among its members.
The program featured Quran recitation and special prayers, during which participants offered prayers for peace, prosperity, and well-being for the nation and its people. The evening’s ambiance was one of joy and camaraderie, effectively transforming the iftar gathering into a vibrant community festival.
Organizers noted that this event marks the beginning of a series of plans aimed at expanding such cultural and social gatherings in the future, reinforcing the bond within the Bangladeshi diaspora.
