Seminar on 'Higher Education and Immigration to Germany' Held in Dhaka

Germany offers immense opportunities for Bangladeshis in tuition-free higher education, career development, and easy permanent residency (PR). According to official data from the European Union, approximately 7.5 million (75 lakh) workers will retire by 2036, creating a significant demand for skilled foreign workers. One of the best pathways to working in Germany as a skilled professional is through Ausbildung (vocational training).

On Tuesday, February 18, a seminar on ‘Higher Education and Immigration to Germany’ was held in Dhaka, where these topics were discussed in detail. Mahmudul Hasan, a Germany-based media personality, shared insights during the event. The seminar was jointly organized by Egaltube and Degreeola.com, with the support of the international money transfer service Taptap Send.

Prominent speakers at the event included Mashrur Shakil, Senior Reporter of Channel i, Senior Journalist Motahar Hossain, Engineer Nazmul Hasan, and Akhi Jahan. Other notable attendees included Zahid Anwar and other distinguished guests.

Germany-based Bangladeshi national Mahmudul Hasan highlighted that Germany offers free education and has a growing demand for skilled workers. He stated that if someone makes themselves qualified, they will not face a shortage of job opportunities in Germany. He also emphasized that higher education, Ausbildung, and the Opportunity Card are the three easiest ways for Bangladeshis to migrate to Germany.

He explained that the Opportunity Card allows applicants to obtain a one-year visa under specific conditions, enabling them to enter Germany and search for a job. Additionally, Ausbildung (vocational training) provides a more direct path to employment in Germany. Each year, around 500,000 Ausbildung positions remain vacant, with only 250,000 to 300,000 being filled, leaving a significant number of opportunities open. However, proficiency in the German language is mandatory for Ausbildung programs, and he encouraged attendees to focus on learning German.

Speaking at the seminar, Hasan, a software developer and media coordinator of Taptap Send Bangladesh, introduced Taptap Send as a low-cost money transfer service designed to make international remittances simple and affordable. He also mentioned that new users can avail a €20, £20, or $20 bonus by using the promo code "EGALTUBE".

The seminar provided valuable guidance for Bangladeshi students and job seekers on pursuing higher education and building a successful career in Germany.
